#TakesOntheGugg is a bespoke social media series created in 2022 for the Guggenheim Museum in New York City. The goal of the initiative was twofold: provide a platform for creative individuals who are not in the Guggenheim’s collection, and, in doing so, connect with the museum’s digital and New York City-based audiences. I invited five creators (designer Ariel Adkins, photographer Hannah La Follette Ryan of @subwayhands, cartoonist Liana Finck of The New Yorker, and illustrators Hayden Goodman and Eugenia Mello) to respond to the museum’s architecture and exhibitions through their respective mediums. Their creations were shared across the Guggenheim’s platforms, generating a massive amount of organic engagement. Additionally, one of Mello’s illustrations received an award from AI-AP in 2022.
